Gr5 is an effect, it can only do so if there is a sound played into it, this case, the guitar. I thought at first it might be a defective semiconductor, but they don't have those in software, lol! The delay is something associated with latency, buffer size is usually associated with crackling or popping, I'm not sure if it would include or not the distortive sound. It sounds like a delayed distortion of some sort. My instinct says it has something to do with latency or buffer size or something in that direction. I wouldn't describe what's on the audio link as noise because it isn't constant. He made a recording of himself and the noise he gets when playing. I found a link from another GR5 user who had the same issue. But it also seems like a lot of people have no problems with it. It appears I am not the only one with this problem.

If anyone else uses GR5 and/or has this issue, your input/guidance would be greatly appreciated!īrock1 wrote:I did a lot of research on the internet.

I freely admit I'm not techie, though I would like to be and am trying hard to learn. I figure TAXI forum guys probably are far more educated on such matters. There doesn't seem to be a universal consensus as to why. However, a quickie search on the internet revealed that other people are having this noise issue as well. It's an old home and the wiring is very old. I've also wondered if maybe the power in my house just sucks. It really drives me nuts and I cannot possibly use it as it stands to record anything. Does anyone else have this problem? You can use a noise gate or the noise reducer, but this tends to clip the sound and then it sounds fake and/or crappy. It has lots of options, but I swear that no matter what I do, when it comes to high gain/distortion, the noise floor is just ridiculous on that thing. I got Guitar Rig 5 because I had heard good things about it. I have a modest home studio and I don't have zillions of dollars to buy amps, mics, etc.
